Having been picked to finish 12th in the Big East, the Bearcats are currently sitting in sixth place.
I think its about time we gave some credit to Mick Cronin and his players for hanging in there while the entire city was on their back for the past couple of years.
I admit it, I was one of the people for the past couple of years that wished Cronin would get fired. At the same time let me say this, in five years they are going to the big dance for the first time, so lets keep that in perspective.
What if UC does not make it the NCAA tournament next year? Because six seniors are about to leave, which means they will be a young squad again next year. So after this year, do UC fans have to wait another five years for a chance to go to the tournament. Will UC fans call for the firing of Cronin if UC falls short of expectation next year? So lets worry about that next year. But for right now I wanna give credit to Mick and his players for taking UC back to the tournament.
