Cincinnati Bengals Trade Carson Palmer To Oakland Raiders

"Raiders gave up their first-round pick in 2012 and a conditional first-rounder in 2013 for Palmer."

I am happy this drama is coming to an end. I have to give credit to Mike Brown for playing a good hand of poker, he pretty much bluffed his way through it. Carson got what he wanted which is a fresh new start with another team. And the Bengals got what they wanted, which is some high draft picks. But I honestly didn't think Carson was worth a first round pick, maybe at best a second round.

Unlike many Bengals fans, I have no beef with Carson. Sure he wanted to leave, but anyone of us who was in his position might do the same. It's kind of same as the Chad situation. My take is that no one certain players should be on a team for more than 5 or 6 years. You always have to bring in fresh new faces and fresh new ideas.

If we look back on it, aren't we glad that Carson said he wants to be traded? Other wise, Carson still be here, Chad still might be here, we wouldn't have Andy Dalton as our QB. So all in all I thank Carson for his trade demands. And I thank him for all he has done for this franchise. He's lead this team to 2 AFC North division titles. He has also made the Cincinnati Bengals relevant again. But I am happy that Dalton is the Bengals QB and not Carson.

So good luck to Carson with his new team.

Rick Reilly Got It Right, Mike Brown Is A Horrible Boss

I'm reading Rick Reilly's Horrible Bosses article and I'm thinking to myself as fans of the Bengals we are stuck in this revolving door of mediocrity and there is no way to escape it. The Bengals have one or two good seasons under Mike Brown for the past twenty years and we ignorant fans forget the other eighteen years didn't happen.

I for one is happy for Carson that he had some guts to walk away from all the money that was coming his way. People who say he let his teammates down are not looking at the big picture. He gave everything he had since he was drafted. But in his eyes and in many of the fans eyes Mike Brown has not done enough to change the attitude, perception, the culture and the loosing mentality around here. I wish we as fans did what Carson did, but as soon as the Bengals have a mediocre season we come rushing back like starving children.

Instead of trading Carson, Mike Brown is holding on to Carson's contract to teach everyone a lesson of you don't walk away from your commitment bullshit. Isn't Mike Brown hurting this team by not trading Carson and getting some future draft picks?

Rumor: Carson Palmer wants to be traded or he will retire.

WTF is all this shit Carson? I just wrote about how you won't be traded last week, and now the internet is running wild with the rumor that you are demanding a trade? Way to stick it to me Carson.
Yea Carson might be an average QB in the NFL, and even according to some a bust, but inside the Bengals organization he is cherished and worshiped. And if he is demanding a trade, I swear Mike Brown just shitted in his pants so did Marvin Lewis. This news is like hurricane Katrina and the Haitian earthquake just hitting the Bengals all at once.
If the rumors are to be true, I cannot blame Carson one bit. This franchise is a mess, the Bengals are the laughing stock of the NFL. For eight years Carson has been a good soldier, he has always taken the blame for a lose, never pointed fingers at coaches or his teammates even when it was obvious who should get the blame. So for Carson to come out and demand a trade is a total shocker. This is the kind of fire I always wanted to see from Carson on the field and in the press conference, instead of his California laid back attitude.
For all the yapping Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis has done so far about how there will be a new system, an overhaul of this team is useless babble; because they haven't done shit so far and Carson can see that. He can see nothing will change, and he realize if he stays with this franchise he has not shot of ever winning a play-off game. And I wish him nothing but the best, I really hope he gets traded and I hope he does well. If I ever decide to buy a Bengals jersey it will be of Carson Palmer.
There are a hand full of teams in the NFL that can use a QB like Carson, so for the Bengals to find someone to trade with should not be a problem. But will they succumb to the pressure and trade or do they stick to their guns?
Everyone knows, even the homeless guy that won the ESPN fantasy challenge, that Mike Brown should of have  fired Marvin, but that didn't happen. And it should be an easy decision for Marvin to fire Bob Bratkowski and  find a new offensive coordinator and that looks like its not happening anytime soon. So again, I can't in any way blame Carson Palmer for wanting to get the fuck out of Cincinnati.
Time for the Jordan Palmer or Dan LeFevour era of dominance to begin.

Whats Wrong With Carson Palmer?

I have watched him play since he was drafted, and I still feel like he is our QB and our leader.
Here is what former great Boomer Esiason said about Carson “I do believe in his heart that he knows he has to play better and I think it will happen sooner than later. Not every QB has hit their stride yet,”. “He hasn’t played his best by any stretch and he’s got to be a Top 5 quarterback. With what they have on offense he should be completing 65 percent of his passes, averaging 270 yards a game and two touchdown passes.”
I agree to some extent of what Esiason said, but I don't agree that Carson is a top 5 QB at least not now and not last year. But can Carson improve? Sure he can.
Critics are saying Carson's passes are over thrown or under thrown, but that's every QB in the league does that. Just because he's our QB we put him under a microscope and dissect his every move.
I would like to see Carson be more active on the field rather than his California cool calm demeanor. But sadly I don't think he is going to change anytime soon.
I think every Bengals fan out there want Carson to be Peyton or Brady, but I don't think that's what the coaching staff want ( which is another topic ). So he has to do what his coaches want. I do believe Carson can put up some ridiculous numbers, but that is not how this offensive scheme is set up. I think the coaching  philosophy by Marvin Lewis is take care of the ball control and keep possession. They just basically ask Carson to manage the team and I think he has done that pretty well.
Until Carson starts playing like any Cleveland QB, we might be overreacting to his play.
